Picture book illustrated during pandemic

two green rabbits

The book is titled “But Why? A virus story about feelings. Written by Cassie St. Amand and illustrated by me during the months of March to June 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. It’s a gentle picture book story about how children feel about not being able to play at their neighbourhood park, empty streets of cars and people, quiet zones and face masks.

This little rabbit’s emotions are evident on every page of the book. He feels happy, sad, worried, angry to name a few.

Releasing in the next few months by Friesen Press.

a highlight of 2014…

cover poetry
I was asked by Scholastic Education Canada to create a few illustration spots for a new publication this year….which lead to 4 illustrations. One was picked for the front cover of the book.  A tremendous honour for me to be included in this piece with other very talented illustrators and authors.

new work…..

I decided to get a little dark with my colours and try a few new things with this page spread. Creating a few illustrations seems to help me with my picture book writing. Which isn’t as easy as one would think.
